Biteback
By Richard Brooks
Gone missing. When, in spring last year, I saw The Great Game , a splendid group of 12 plays about the history of Afghanistan right up until the present day, it included Blood and Gifts, by the American JT Rogers. Yet, mysteriously, it's not in the revival, which began last week and was seen on Thursday by the new chief of defence staff, Sir David Richards, and many of his colleagues. Set in the early 1980s, Blood and Gifts was about covert CIA funding for a rebel mullah.
