In a year of austerity, it is little surprise that gripes over cash dominated the education agenda in 2010. Students were told to spend more on a degree, vice-chancellors were told to spend less on themselves, schools told to stop spending our money on buildings and sport and Labour was told it spent too much on misfiring policies.
