An opera about a trailer-trash model who married an octogenarian millionaire and a premiere of a ballet based on a much-loved 19th-century story unprecedentedly means Covent Garden has two spanking-new productions opening within a fortnight. In fact, it is extremely rare for Covent Garden to stage premieres at all, let alone a couple in as many weeks.
