Banker’s son wins hoard of US gold buried in the blitz

The son of a German-born Jew who fled to Britain just before the second world war is to be awarded gold coins worth £100,000 that were buried in his father’s back garden 70 years ago. The coins were hidden in the ground by a relative shortly before the family house in London was destroyed by a bomb.
