Hockney’s art of digital restoration

D avid Hockney, the British artist who embraced the use of digital cameras, mobile phones and iPads in art, has used his computer to “restore” a famous 17th-century painting. The Sermon on the Mount, by the French landscape painter Claude, hangs in the Frick Collection in New York.
