■ Opening this week is the much-needed £130m Sainsbury Exhibitions Gallery at the British Museum. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, who studied archeology at Cambridge, is likely to open the Vikings show that inaugurates it. Personally, I would have preferred Sidse Babett Knudsen, from Borgen.
