Singing in the rain

Sectarian stabbings, absent fathers and psychiatric social workers are not the usual stuff of pop songs, but all feature on the debut album of Glasvegas, which is number two in the charts this week. Three of the four-strong band come from Dalmarnock, a poor part of Glasgow's east end, not far from Celtic's Parkhead stadium.
