Financial storm deflects PM’s moral compass

Once upon a time there was an opposition politician who was passionate on the subject of fair taxation. His particular bugbear was the ease with which foreign nationals, often Gulf Arabs, could strike deals with the then Inland Revenue. Setting up in Britain, they could conduct their business unhindered by the terror of tax. It was costing the country billions, said the young politician.
