Kate Hoey
- Kate Hoey is Labour MP for Vauxhall, in London, and is chair of the Countryside Alliance. A former Northern Ireland high jump champion, Kate has held Vauxhall for Labour since 1989 and in 1999 became Britain’s first female sports minister (a post she held until 2001). Now a backbench MP, she is also an honorary vice-president of Surrey County Cricket Club and was appointed chair of the Countryside Alliance in 2005. (source: The Guardian)
